New Media Campaign to get uber geeks sucked into.....

Colony Posted by Hello

Here is Micro$oft's latest marketing campaign...

Remember the "Ilovebees" bullshit....well this one's a little more intreaguing.....from what I can gather... I am assuming that this is their latest way to get Xbox fans and Techies interested in the new Xbox.

There is a countdown clock on their site: http://www.ourcolony.net which I have now added as a link on the left here...I think the countdown is going to end on a day in May that they plan to unveil the new version of Xbox.

On the main page, it has a symbol not unlike the one on the power button on the current version of Xbox. And its got a little bit of style in that it kind of moves with your mouse like a watery ....I dont know....

Anyhow, this site is set up so that you must have groups of peeps to sign up together and answer a bunch of cryptic clues the site give you ....for what I dont know.....maybe exclusive info on the new Xbox...(previously said to be called neXtBoX, Xbox 2, XBox 360....who cares...I just want to know what day I can go to EB and buy it!!!!

They are supposed to be releasing three different versions of their newest machine.....a basic one w/o a Hard Drive (HD), a version with an HD, and later on after launch a version that will be part PC.....

I personally just want the HD version. Cant wait until EB starts taking preorders, b/c not only do I want to make sure that I am getting one on launch day, but also b/c I will use them as a kind of no term , long term layaway. (the system is rumored to be about 400.00 bucks!!!! It will probably be coming out in November this year. Supposedly a year before the Next Playstation. If history repeats itself, this could put Xbox in position of being the dominant console of the next generation.

Case in point...... one of the main reasons the PS2 so so popular and has a larger installed base, is b/c they came out something like 18 months before Xbox hit the street (and Gamecube for that matter). With so much of an advantage being then only next generation console on the market, they should be able to be THE dominant game manufactuer of the next-gen consoles. HOPEFULLY the new system will be backwards compatible. If not, I can deal with that....I have a shit load of old systems and games, spanning back to the old Atari 2600 days......
